We guarantee that our shutters will be defect free in materials or workmanship provided that the shutters were properly installed for 5 years with the following provisos.
Basswood shutters with a Paint Finish come with a 3-year limited warranty on colour fastness of paints. Stained shutters and MDF shutters have a 3-year limited warranty on colour fastness of stained products.
This guarantee is exclusive and in lieu of all other obligations, liabilities or warranties. In no event shall Plantation Shutter Surrey or Fit-ex Ltd be liable for incidental or consequential damages, or for any expense associated with such damages.
Repair or remakes of defective products is the sole remedy under this guarantee and in no event shall Plantation Shutter Surrey or Fit-ex Ltd be liable for costs to remove and/or reinstall a product that they have not originally fitted.
This warranty does not cover any condition of or damage to the shutter or window, from unauthorized repairs, accidents, alterations, misuse, abuse, act of God, motorized devices, wear and tear or failure to follow our instructions with respect to measurement, installations, cleaning or maintenance.
Improper, inappropriate or unauthorized replacement parts, repairs or maintenance voids this guarantee.
Due to manufacturing, natural variations in colour, grain and texture in these products, Plantation Shutter Surrey or Fit-ex Ltd is not able to guarantee exact matches to samples, nor are they able to guarantee exact matches on subsequent orders. All other guarantees, both express and implied, are expressly disclaimed.
This guarantee excludes all liability for consequential or incidental damages for any cause whatsoever.
Mail Order Deliveries
All shutters, frames and battens are put through stringent quality control checking system culminating with a final quality check and packaging. One person is responsible for each packed item and they sign off each piece as it is packed to ensure it is not damaged, the colour match from frame to door is 100% and that there are no faults.
Please bear this in mind when making a claim with regard to a damaged shutter, frame or battens.
Shutters are easy to damage on site and we will not replace or refund damaged goods unless you can prove that they arrived in a damaged state.
Therefore, please do not sign for damaged boxes until content has been checked.
Claims for damaged items will need to be inspected in full, including the packaging, by a representative of Plantation Shutter Surrey or Fit-ex Ltd.
Such claims must be received in writing within 24 hours of receipt of the delivered goods. Claims made after this period will not be eligible for a replacement.
Colours
Woodstains:
We cannot guarantee a perfect colour match, as part of the character of a natural wood product is that it may vary in tone and grain.
Paint Finishes:
A custom colour may not end up being an exact duplicate. This is due to a number of variables such as:
- the species of timber the paint is being applied to
- the number of coats applied
- the degree of sanding and surface preparation
- the temperature and humidity at application and drying
In any event Plantation Shutter Surrey or Fit-ex Ltd cannot be held liable for paint or woodstain colour variations due to the above.
